Christmas box

Hya,

Long time no see. I hope you have had a lovely christmas in blogland. Mine's been nice and quiet. My husband has been working all of it but a friend of mine Cath, came and kept Lauren and me company for a few days. The run up to christmas is always hectic isn't it. Nearly as busy as getting ready for convention!!

Today i thought I would show you a box that Lauren had asked me to make. She had a gift for her friend Steph and wanted to make it alittle more special for her.

I used a template from Stampin' Up and with Old Olive cardstock I stamped the base using a small stamp from the Delightfull Decorations set as a back ground. I then used some Real Red for the top and decorated with some paper from the Jolly Holiday Paper series. The S on the top is stamped using the Broad Sheet Alphabet stamp set.

The inside greeting was stamped using the Occasional Quotes stamp set layered on to Real Red.
And just to finish I used some of the bling, wouldn't be me if I did't right?

That's it for now. Today I am going to sort some bits and pieces and try and organise myself. Mmmm!!
Have a lovely week.

Cripes!!

Hya

How are you all in blogland? Are you all set for christmas? Where on earth does the time go? There just isn't enough hours in the day for me to do everything that needs doing. Alot of course work to do. I just didn't realise what was involved. I haven't even had the chance to keep up with fellow bloggers. Cripes!! My new year resolution needs to be managing my time better, me thinks.lol.
I have been busy getting orders and some cards done which i am hoping to show you over the next few weeks.
The first thing i want to show you is a decoration i bought from a well known store. It's a christmas card holder. When i saw this in the store it was on a unit with cards on it. I really liked that it was nice and simple and would be able to sit on my mantle. When i got it home i started thinking that maybe i could pretty it up. (Notice the Stampin' up cards i have been sent! How lovely.x) You know me and my glitter. Well........... This is what i did,

What i did was used White Stazon and the Serene Snowflake stampset. I stamped all over the front, top and sides with the snow flakes. Here is another pic with a bit of close up. Now you see the snow flakes abit clearer.

I then put some bling on it with the Jewel Rhinestones from Stampin' Up. I really do like these-as you can tell. It just shows that they have multi uses. Here's another view of it. I'm really pleased with it.

Just before i go i thought i would show you my christmas tree. It didn't get put up until last night but i do like to see the trees when they are done. I'm not so much the traditionalist as you can see but i love it.

well I'm off to get some more work done- ooh and cook tea!! I hope you enjoyed seeing my creations.

Have a great week

Christmas rush class

Hya,

I want to start by saying Thank You for all your lovely comments you have left me. They really do boost me up.

How are you in this cold weather? I'm sure you have had a coating of the white stuff and so have we. It's all very pretty when it's first fallen, everything just seems so clean and beautiful. It took me two and half hours to get home on wednesday. The buses just stopped working as they were getting stuck in Leeds. Luckily for me I have had a few days off so didn't have to fight my way into work. The only downside is that now everything has turned to ice. Now that's the bit that fills me with dread. I have spent a few days in doors and i don't like feeling i can't get out and about as i want to.

So, on saturday i had a class booked with my Stampin' Up mum Julie. It was the christmas rush and it was great. We made 8 cards in 2 1/2 hours and these are what we made.

The first card is made with Cherry Cobbler cardstock using the Delightful Decorations stampset. I know you will be sick of seeing this stampset but they do look really good. The other stampset is using Pretty in Pink cardstock with my favourite colour of the moment Concorde Crush. The stampset is Dasher, and he does look dashing on this card.

The next card was using Real Red cardstock with papers from the Jolly Holiday set. The santa was made using various Stampin' Up punches. This would be perfect for a childs christmas card. The other card is using Soft Suede cardstock and ink. The background is the wonderful Medallion Stamp. I love this stamp and i have had some really lovely results with it. The main image is from the Winter Post set.

Right, time to go and get some orders done. Have a great week.

Christmas Handbags

Hya,

How are you? Had a good week? Mine's been ok. Busy, busy, busy as usual. Where is the time going. There is only a few weeks 'till christmas. O.M.G. I haven't even been able to get started with prezzie buying.

You have been lucky if you have managed to escape the white stuff this week. We finally got a coating here in Leeds, which put the fear of you know what into me. I love the snow when i don't have to go out to work, it's the after effect i don't like.

Anyway,

On saturday i held a class for my ladies and the theme was a christmas party as it is the last one before the big day. We made handbags made out of the Jolly Holiday christmas papers.

Now these did go down well. They absolutley loved them so thanks for the idea Jules. To decorate we used the Delightful Decorations stampset. We also used Filigree Brads to join the handles on to the bag. I love these brads and they just finish off any project.

We made 4 cards to go into the bags which just fit perfectly.

These were made from the Contempo Christmas stampset for one and the Two Step Extra Large Bird Punch. The colour compo is Cherry Cobbler cardstock and Ink pad and Old Olive card stock. The ribbon on the robin card is the Real Red Satin Ribbon which finishes it off really nice.

These 2 are using the Delightfull Decorations baubles again and the tree is the Contempo Christmas again. Abit hard to tell but the baubles have got little gems and pearls on which are absolutley gorgeous.

Hope you likey. I'm off to get more course work out of the way and the dreaded chores too.lol.

Have a great week.

Girly Graduation Card

Hya,

Happy wednesday to you. How are you in craft land? Me, I have had an ordinary couple of days really. Done course work that seems to be multiplying on it's own accord.

I thought i would show you a card i was asked to make for a friends graduation. My friend had seen the 'Well Done' card i had made in the summer and asked me to make a more girlier version for her daughter. Now this i could do...Pink, sparkly and having some bling.

I have used some Bridesmaid Speciality Papers that are now retired. (which is a real shame!). I did the sentiment on the computer and then framed it with the Frames with a Flourish stamp set. The ribbon is from my old stash which I am trying to use up so i can buy lots more s.u goodies.Lol. To finish off i have used the Stampin' Up Jewels which i love. They are so much more sparkly than others i have used.

Here is another take on the same card but this time finished off with a Filigree Brad. What do you reckon? Nice eh?

Well, I am off to prep for saturdays class. Lots to do so little time.

P.s Have you seen the new album from The Boys? It's called Gravity and it's great. Check out the pic on the right, I love it....

Have a good rest of the week.

Convention part ???....

Hya,

I know don't faint, me posting twice in one week. Flipping eck!!

Today is my first proper day off for ages, having said that i have spent all day on the computer catching up with alot of course work. I am a little bit further forward thank goodness.

I know I'm still harping on but i haven't had chance to show you some of the fabulous goodies i got when we went to convention.

Do you like this beautiful little box? Well my Stampin' Up mum, Julie, gave me this.

Well, I was estatic to get this but look what i got inside!!

This picture does not do this justice. It's beautiful. A lovely jem for one of Julie's Jems. How lucky am I??

The next pic is of my lovely goodies i got from Kate, my roomie. Inside is some gorgeous lotions. I'm not a very good sleeper and Kate thought the Lavender lotion would help me sleep. How lovely are these? ( they are also in my favourite colours of the moment- Concorde Crush and Pear Pizzaz, and Kate didn't know that)

I was spoiled that weekend. Look at what jeanette made for me. This lovely little box has my name on and some lovely chocs inside with a card saying for me to enjoy convention. And boy did I. It was really nice to get something with my name on. I usually do for others but don't normally get for me. (also means Lauren can't pinch it, lol.)

And here is one more photo of only a few swaps and things i recieved. I would recommend joining Stampin' Up even if it was just to be able to go to convention. What a trip.

So course work done for today, blog updated, next on the list to get a glass of wine and chill out for abit.

Have a great week,

Leeds Lights are switched on.

Hya,

How has your week been? Where has it gone for starters? I can't believe that we are another week nearer christmas already. We have just got back from Leeds City Centre where they have switched on our christmas lights and boy am i shattered. Lauren was mega desperate to go, so after abit of persuading i agreed to take her. There is a German Christingle Market on in Millenium Square so after some food i took her for a mooch around there.

This is Lauren outside one of the stalls. There is a moose on the one of the walls and it sings to you. She thought this was quite amusing.

Lots of lovely food stalls, this being one of them making candy floss. Lauren was really fascinated how they made it. I'm sure that if i had let her she would have stayed there all night.

Here we are in the middle of the caos. We ended up right at the back but there was a big screen. Lauren is abit taller than me now so she could see more of it. McFly and Shane Ward turned on the lights and then there was a fire work display just after. There were approx 20 thousand people there tonight. Lauren loved it and that was the main thing.

Sorry for the not so great photos, they are taken on my Iphone, but as you can imagine there were so many people bumping into us.

Right, I'm off to bed now. Nite nite.

Hya,

Oh my goodness, where has this week gone? It doesn't seem a week ago that we were all getting ready to attend the awards evening at Addington Palace for the Stampin' Up Convention. I am still trying to sort myself out. I have so many swaps and gorgeous pressies that i don't want to put them away. I will show you some of them but i haven't been able to take photos yet. I have gone to work in the dark and i don't get home till after dark.

The first picture i want to show you is of my roomie,Kate, and me at the dinner on the friday night. Monica took this photo of us and i really like it. Thanks Monica.

The next photo is on the stage. All Julies Jems were gathered together on stage with our lovely mum Julie, in the middle at the back. How fab do we all look together.

The next photo is showing you the fabulous venue that the convention took place in. This is Addington Palace. This is set in lovely grounds and also has a golf course. We had all on to keep Kate focused on Stampin' up instead of golfing. She nearly went and asked a group if she could have a go!!

And here is a couple of photos of the hall. This was where Shelley met us when we arrived. It is also where most of the swapping took place. You can just see on the right there was a board where some of the swaps where put on display.

Another view..

And finally here is a pic of a gift that i made Kate. It was a gift bag that held some luxury hand creams in it. The colour combo is Melon Mambo and Concord Crush. I have used the flower from the True Friend set. The frame is from Frames with a Flourish. I am really pleased how this has turned out, so much so i have had a few people trying to convince me to give it to them instead.

I hope i haven't bored you too much and i know there were quite a few photos. Come back soon so i can show you some of the other goodies.

Have a lovely weekend,

O.M.G Convention 2010

Hya

Oh My Goodness, what a week end. I have had the most amazing weekend at Stampin' Up Convention. What a whirlwind of crafting. Some of our group, Julies Jems travelled together - Gemma, Jill, our mum Julie, Kate ( who did most of the driving to Surrey, and didn't she do amazing!!) and of course last of all me. Julie had named the car the Mystery Machine just like on Scooby Doo.
We got to Surrey on thursday afternoon where we met up with lots of other Jems, ladies who i had heard about but finally got to meet. We went out to eat and then joined in with Monicas Pre-convention party. This was another chance to mingle with lots of other demonstrators who alot of them were as unsure as i was what on earth we had let our selves in for. Alot of swapping took place, we also got a lovely goodie bag and did some make and takes. Phew!! and this was only the begining.
On friday we attended the first day. convention was held at Addington Palace. We all arrived on six coaches and others arrived under their own steam. I don't think i have seen so many people in one area. Shelley was there to meet us which was nice. We then registered and recieved our convention goodie bag. There was then lots of chance for us to mingle and swap projects. We then went for lunch in the big marquee.

Here i am sitting on stage. I'm actually sat on life size wooden stamps that where on the stage. I just loved the fact that these where proper stamps but the size of them was huge. I wouldn't like to have tried to ink one of these up!!

Here i thought i would show you my swap offerings. I made book marks but with the added twist of a calender for 2011 on the back.

I have used the colour combo of Rich Razzleberry and Certainly Celery. The stampsets are Boroque Motif and flight of the Butterfly. The butterfly is inked with Melon Mambo. I made 140 of these to swap with other demonstrators and got lots of lovely swaps back.

For our convention bags we had to make name labels. Can you imagine that there were 300 other demonstrators all from the UK, Germany and France and we were all given exactly the same bags. This is my label for on my bag. I have used Melon Mambo cardstock, used the flourish from the tiny tags and inked it with Concord Crush. I have taken Concord Crush card stock and given an edging using the Scallop Trim Border Punch. These are very much my favourite colours.

There is so much to tell you and show you and i am sure you will get c0nvention overload after looking on other peoples blogs too so i am going to leave you for now and try and recover from all the exitement of it all.

Have a good week

Hya,

Iam so sorry for not blogging for a while. I know, i'm a bad blogger. There has been so much going on here. I have been trying to get some swaps ready for convention, which i am so exited about. I can't wait. also i have had so much course work to do. I didn't realise how much time it all would take. so unfortunatley something has had to give and it ended up being the crafting to put on the blog.

So i have a really nice card to show you that i made my friend Janes birthday. We had a lovely night out a resturant in Leeds and the entertainment was a Westlife tribute night. The boys were really good (but of course not as good as the real thing!!) The food was really good and a good night was had by all. So much so we are going to do it all again in December.

On to the card. The colour i have used is Melon Mambo cardstock. I have stamped using Melon Mambo ink. The stampset used is True Friend, which is a retired set, but it is the first time i have used it. I have layered onto Basic Black and then onto more Melon Mambo card. I have used the Spotted Grossgrain Melon Mambo Ribbon. I have finished the card with a pink Jewel brad from my stash.

So i am off to get more done. I promise that i won't leave it so long next time. Have a good week. Thanks for looking.

Baby card

Hya,

How has your week been? I seem to be chasing my tail alot this week. I seem to have alot of home work from college to do. I am sure it will be worth it in the end.
I thought i would show you a card that Lauren asked me to make for this week for her. One of her teachers has become a dad for the first time. Lauren thought it would be nice, as she likes this teacher, to give them a card.
The main cardstock was from my stash that i am trying to use up (to make room for lots more Stampin' Up goodies!). The stampset i have used is Bundle of Love. I have then coloured this in using the Melon Mambo inkpad with the blender pens. The edging is Very Vanilla that i have used the Eyelet Border Punch to create the lace border. The ribbon is from my own stash that says 'It's a girl'. It just finished the card off lovely.

Here is a side view showing the easel card off.

I hope you likey. Why not drop me a comment and let me know what you think.

Time to go, more studying to do. Have a good week.

Kates Birthday

Hya,

Are you having a good weekend? Been up to much crafting? Mines been ok, not had much chance to craft myself.

This week has been my Stampin' Up friend Kates Birthday. I can show you the card I made for her now as I know she will definatley have recieved it by now. The lucky lady has been whisked away for her birthday as it was a special one. I'm not sure you will be able to make out from looking at this card which birthday she is celebrating!!!

I knew you would struggle, lol. The papers I have used are from the now retired Sunny Days Scrapin' Kit. The papers are a mixture of Tempting Turquoise and Pink Passion and Pumkin Pie. I love the fact that these colours work well together so that the ribbons all work too.

As you can see the inside is decorated too. I have stamped one side with -Make a wish- and the other has Happy Birthday. I have also put a few little jewels in too. I wouldn't be me without adding a little sparkle.

Well off to do some chores yet again. Sorry for the fuzzy pics but I had to take these in artificial light as I needed to get it into the post for her.

Have a good week. Happy crafting.

Hya,

I hope you are all well. Iam sorry for not posting for a while but my priority has been doing course work and trying to get some orders done too.

As you will have heard by now there is alot of excitement in the Stampin' Up family. Our new catalogue has been released on October 1st. At first i wasn't too sure but now i have the fabulous glossy catty in my paws i have had a rethink. There are quite a few things that i just have to have. A few weeks ago i attended training in Manchester with my other S.U friends. We were given a free stamp set called Contempo Christmas and made a card too.

This is the card we made.

The colours used were Early Espresso, Cherry Cobler and Whisper White. The ribbon was Whisper White Organza Ribbon. I bet you can't guess which will be my new favourite????lol....The bauble has been stamped and layered so that it stands out from the page. Simple but very affective.

I'm off now but i promise not to leave it so long to post again. Take care and have a good week.

A sad reason for a card.

Hya,

How is your week going? Mines abit busy at work, nothing new there then. Just another sign of how things are going in the nhs.

I have finally got over the regional training on Friday but i am trying to think of some ideas to make swaps for convention. I thought i would show you some of my swaps that i recieved on friday. There are alot of talented people around. It was abit like christmas, looking through all my lovely goodies the next day.

I thought i would show you a card that i made. I can't say it was a joy to make as it was for a sad occasion. My friend has had a bereavement at the week end and i just wanted to show her that i am thinking about her and her family at such a sad time.

I have used some card stock that is retiring but it really worked colour wise for me. The base is Close to Cocoa with Pink Passion layered on top. The stampset used is Whimsical Wings stamped with Soft Suede ink and stamped on to Whisper White card stock. I have decoupaged the bird with a Pink Passion bird and then the wing is layered again on top. The ribbon which is Rose Red Double Stitched, is fastened on with a lovely jewel brad from the pretties kit, which is retiring, boo. It's hard to see the greeting, it just says 'Sending you Hugs' which is from a non s u set stamped in white.

Well that's it for now. Have a good rest of the week.

Manchester Training

Hya,

How are you all? Good week?

I bet you thought i had run away didn't you? Well no, i haven't really. It has just been one of those weeks where time has run away with me again. I have found out this week that i have quite abit of homework involved in my quest as a medical secretary. I have also this week attended some regional training in manchester for stampin' up. We had to make some cards to swap with other demonstrators and there were quite a few to make.

So i thought i would show you my swaps. I have used Melon Mambo card as my base, then layered it with Rich Razzleberry card. On to Whisper White card i stamped using the stampset Boroque Motifs in Melon Mambo ink. I stamped this again and decoupaged on to the Whisper White. I used a gem from my stash for the middle. I stamped using Rich Razzleberry ink again onto Whisper White using the Tiny Tags and used the Jewelry Tag punch to make little tags. These are fastened on with the Gold Elastic Cord.

Pink and girly, that's me!!

I love going to training, i get to see loads of people that i haven't seen for ages and also i get to meet people whose blogg i like to follow. The swaps i got back are very inspirational and lovely. I can't wait for convention!!

Here is a pic of me with the lovely kate who i haven't seen for quite a while. We were abit like naughty kids, god help us at convention as we are roomies.lol......

Well that's me for now. Have a great week.

christmas box set 2

Hya,

How are you all? Had a good week? Thank you for all your comments, especially wishing me a speedy recovery. Well they definatley worked. I am finally on the mend. I can't believe how much it knocked me off my feet.

Yesterday was a good day. I had my ladies over and they had a whale of a time. It was quite hard going but well worth it. They all made the box set for Christmas cards (which i have to say was a roaring success), so thanks to Jennie Moors for the lovely tuition.

The box on the left is my box and was made out of Soft Suede card, inked with Soft Suede ink pad for the background. The box on the right is courtesy of one of my ladies Irene. She used Real Red card stock that was stamped with Soft Suede ink. The snow flakes stamps are from the Serene Snowflakes stampset. How lovely are these boxes??? Will also make fab prezzies too.

Card 1 (above), is made with Night of Navy card stock and Serene Snowflakes is stamped with Night of Navy ink pad. I know in this pic it does look black but it's definatley navy blue. This card has got a little extra with the Gold Elastic Cord. My goodness this really does go along way. I bought a reel last Christmas and have done loads of projects and yesterdays class and i still have some left.

Card 2 is made with Real Red cardstock and inkpad. On the Whisper White for this one i have stamped some of the smaller snowflakes with the Champayne Shimmer Paint just to add abit of sparkle.

Well i hope you likey. I need to go and make 35 swaps for some training i am going to in Manchester next week. If your going i will see you there.

christmas box set

Hya,
Hows you? Having a good week? I hope your all ok. I am still recovering from the bronchitis that i have been battling with. I can't believe how much it has knocked me off my feet. I have gone back to work because iam not very good at being a patient.
I thought i would show you a couple of cards that my ladies are going to be making on saturday. We are making a box that will hold approx six cards. This set is a lovely creation by the very clever Jennie Moors. I can't wait to meet her at convention.
These cards are made using the Serene Snowflake stampset. I know that i am showing you black and white cards again but they really do look the part. I have used Basic Black ink pad stamped on to Whisper White card. It's abit hard to tell but i have decoupaged the main centre and then added a pearl jem for extra detail in the middle. I have used the Tiny Tags stampset and fastened them on with the Gold Elastic Cord.

On the next card i have used the Shimmer Paint in Champayne to add some sparkle to the background for detail. Also i added a star brad for the middle and then some plain brads for the corners.

I have done some more cards for the box in a different colour way but i wont bore you now, i will do it later.lol.....

Right, i am off. Thanks for looking.

The first christmas card

Hya,

How are you? Good week? Sorry for not posting this week, i have come down with a really bad cold. Me being me it's not just any cold, oh no! I seem to have developed abit of bronchitis too. You know my theory if you do something you may as well go the whole hogg. I missed out on a class at Julies and at Harrogate Papercraft Show which i am cheesed off about. I need to be back on track though as i have a class booked with my ladies next week and i can't let them down.

Anyway, enough feeling sorry for myself, i thought i would show you a card with a stamp set that is retiring at the end of september. The set is called Silent Night and when made in various colours it looks so different.

This first card was stamped with Not Quite Navy ink on to Whisper White card. then layered on to Brilliant Blue card and then the back is Brocade Blue card, both of which are retiring at the end of september.

The second card is stamped with Old Olive, which is staying, yesss!!Then layered on to Always Artichoke. The back card is Kraft card stock which is also retiring.
The greeting on the fronts of the cards is from the Season of Joy set which is so usefull for lots of other cards too. It's abit hard to see but i have finished off with Dazzling Diamonds. It really makes it look like the snow is glistening. How pretty.
Well i am off to do a few chores now and then some prep work for next week.
Have a good week,

What a year!

Hya,

How has your weekend been? Mines ok. I have had the chance today to get some fruit and vegatables from a friends allotment. How good is that. They taste so much better than the shop bought ones, also saves a fortune.

Oh my goodness, I have been a Stampin' Up demonstrator a whole year. and what a year it has been. I have met some lovely people and made some great friends. I have to say a 'BIG' thankyou to my stampin' up mum Julie. She has been there and answered any daft questions i have had along the way. I wouldn't have been able to do all i have without her help.

This week has been exciting for stampin' up demonstrators. We have been given a sneak peak at what the new catalogue has in store for us this next year. There's alot of nice goodies for us to be able to order on the 1st of october.

So on that note i will show you a card i was asked to make for an order. I used one of my favourites the 'Crazy for Cupcakes'. It is a great set and versatile for any age group. I used some papers for backing which are old retired papers (Sweet Always) but work perfect with this set. The lovely ribbon used is Choc Chip Satin Ribbon which is retiring, boo hoo.

I know you can't see very well but i put glitter on the cherries to make it more girly. I wouldn't be me without abit of bling.

Right, I suppose i should go and do the boring ironing.

Have a great week,

Lynda.x

Post it note holder

Hya,

Happy Bank Holiday to you. Gosh my day off seems to be wizzing by. How is yours? This weekend i have had to do the school shopping which is always fun (not!!) Once we had done the majority of it there was a wedding fair on in Leeds. Now Lauren was in her element here. She absolutley loves anything to do with weddings, so much so i think it's definatley where a career lies for her. She got chance to talk to the owner of the wedding dress shop and managed to get some information from her. Lauren would love to do her work experience in a wedding dress shop.

Anyway time to show you my latest project. I am still going with the monochrome theme ish. I decided to do a three d project which is a post it note holder.

For the base i have used Basic Black card stock. I have then used papers from the Night and Day speciality papers. I have layered these onto Whisper White to give abit a bit of detail. I have used the gorgeous Real Red Satin Ribbon tied together with a jewel brad from the Pretties Kit. That kit does seem to go along way. There is a slot that you can put a pen in. On the pen i covered the main body with matching paper.

Here i have shown you the inside angle just so you can see how the post it note sits.

Well that's it for now, hope you likey : ) have a good week.
